[June 6 2013]
Joe Bradley’s solo exhibition at Gavin Brown features his trademark raw canvas works as well as a large grid installation of works on paper. Bradley’s layers of color and abstract fields of paint feel consistent throughout the show but still experimental with each new painting. Passages of figuration in the exhibition add an intriguing narrative to the artist’s practice and ultimately help to create a cohesive show. Lotus Beaters is on view through June 29th 2013 at Gavin Brown, 620 Greenwich Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
