Jamie Sterns presents the work of Joachim Friedrich and Sam McKinniss for Envoy Enterprises latest exhibit. The artists’ work is markedly different in style and technique but utimately unified in their exploration of line and shapes. McKinniss’ Gay Hell rainbow oil canvas creates an interesting narrative and is formally provocative. Elsewhere, Friedrich’s aryclic painting on the New York Times merges time and memory in a delicate manner that adds depth to the more abstract collages presented in the gallery. On view through August 24th 2013 at Envoy Enterprises, 87 Rivington Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
