[October 2 2012]
Jesper Just’s new solo exhibition at James Cohan Gallery includes a remarkable two-channel video The Nameless Spectacle. The thirteen minute film displays action simultaneously on both sides of the exhibition space. Filmed in Paris, the work reveals the artist’s mastery of rhythm and complex narrative. The viewer becomes the witness to anonymous acts and Just’s storyline is dependent upon the participation of his witnesses. On view through October 27th 2012 at James Cohan Gallery, 533 West 26th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
