HIGH NOON is a deep exploration of four photographic titans—Nan Goldin, David Armstrong, Mark Morrisroe, and Philip-Lorca diCorcia—who transformed the visual language of intimacy and subversion. Emerging during the turbulent Reagan era, a time of cultural conservatism and social upheaval, this exhibition showcases 150 works from the F.C. Gundlach collection, weaving together themes of vulnerability, love, addiction, and mortality. Goldin’s diaristic snapshots bleed raw emotion, Armstrong’s portraits hum with restrained lyricism, and Morrisroe’s textured experiments evoke a dreamlike nostalgia. DiCorcia’s theatrical compositions offer a counterpoint, blending artifice and narrative. Together, their works form a kaleidoscopic meditation on the fragility and resilience of the human experience.
