“Forgiving and Forgetting” an exhibition by Damien Hirst at Gagosian, Rome
Purple is pleased to present “Forgiving and Forgetting,” an exhibition of sculptures and new paintings by Damien Hirst at Gagosian, Rome. The exhibition includes works from Hirst’s “Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable,” a series composed of sculptural relics from a fictional shipwreck. These range from ancient busts and classical statues to representations of iconic Disney characters, carved out of pink Portuguese marble and white Carrara marble — one of the most iconic materials in Western art history.
