Tetsumi Kudo’s for nostalgic purposes, for your living room, souvenir “la mue” featured in Andrea Rosen Gallery’s latest group exhibition. The show focuses on a group of artists working in the 1960s and 1970s and also includes artists Paul Thek, Hannah Wilkes and Aline Szapocznikokw. The works presented in the gallery feel strikingly contemporary in content and form. All four artists articulate their ideas through strange but beautiful shapes and colors. Drawing upon sex, counter culture ideas and moments of humor the artists reflect the spirit of their creative period and resonate with later generations. Counter Forms is on view through November 16th 2013 at Andrea Rosen, 525 West 24th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
