The Chilean artist and Purple contributor’s second exhibition in Paris, « calypso » is a response to Homer’s Odyssey, and more specifically to the years Odysseus spent with the nymph Calypso in Ogygia. The exhibition shows a body of paintings and sculptures that represent the reflections of the artist who chooses to go against the habits of our era and engage with a classical textual source instead of merely brushing past it.
On view until April 23 2022 at Almine Rech Gallery, 64 Rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris
