The bust of Vladimir Lenin lays in the basement of the former Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party which became the Bank-Financial Center “New World” after the fall of the iron curtain in Warsaw, Poland. The bust used to decorate one of its main rooms, now these rooms are mainly being rented out for film sets and photo shootings. On a humorous note here you have this shadow of the communist past looming in the basement, and above it, full fledged capitalism. Text and photo Sophie Thun
