Bloody English is a collective exhibition curated by Ariella Wolens, featuring eight London-based contemporary artists: Charlie Billingham, Adham Faramawy, Jesse Wine, Celia Hempton, Oliver Osborne, Prem Sahib, Patrick Hough, and Emma Hart. Each, in responding to their own unique past, contribute a lively offering that responds to the nature of the British psyche, from the strict and prudent Victorian values to the dry humor and painful awkwardness. These various comments in English artwork realize the tension between freeing the creative spirit and relying on pedagogic standards. Bloody English is on view through February 15th, 2014 at OH WOW, Los Angeles. Photo Paige Silveria
