Purple TV presents a series of monthly takeovers, which will see our favourite photographers, artists, and musicians curate a selection of their favourite videos for 7-days. We kick off the series with long-time contributor Ari Marcopoulos. His unique style of raw immediacy has made him one of the most important contemporary photographers through capturing subcultures such as skateboarders and graffiti artists, as well as landscapes and his own family and friends. His arresting and unsentimental intimacy has been influential to the worlds of art, fashion, and photography. Last year he helped capture the album art and conceived the aesthetic and design for the cover of Magna Carta Holy Grail by Jay-Z. His raw aesthetic also feeds into his video work, best known for his seminal work with New York upstarts the Beastie Boys to most recently capturing the Brooklyn rap trio Ratking. Check his curation of videos on Purple TV everyday.
