TOM SACHS‘s latest release is a step-by-step guide how to perform a tea ceremony. Reviving the Japanese tradition of ‘chanoyu’, the artist visually explains the ritual, taking inspiration from niche manuals such as YVES KLEIN‘s “The Fundamentals of Judo” or SEN’O TANAKA‘s “The Tea Ceremony” and using an index of own tea-related works. Inaugurated with an exhibition at The Noguchi Museum last March, it will now travel to Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas.
‘Tea Ceremony Manual’ is available to purchase here!
