88Rising Moonrise Gala at Milk Studios, Los Angeles
To introduce a new tradition on Lunar New Year, the American Asian record label 88rising hosted its inaugural Moonrise Gala at Milk Studios in Los Angeles on February 17. The gala welcomed a diverse community to a red carpet event that later transformed into a mini-food festival and musical experience, emceed by Dumbfoundead and performances by Niki, Invisibl Skratch Pilkz, Noodles, Jocelyn Enriquez, and Eyedress.
To honor Asian excellence in entertainment, music, and cultural spaces, honorees Anderson Paak, Jackson Wang, Jocelyn Enriquez, Sulinna Ong, Invisibl Skratch Pilkz, Destin Daniel Cretton, and Niki received Moonrise Medals, crafted by the NYC-based jewelry line Anna Kikue.
The Moonrise Gala aims to establish an annual tradition, capturing the progression of Asian creativity within 88rising and its surrounding creative community.
