Alec Soth: Somewhere To Disappear

Alec Soth: Somewhere To Disappear by Laure Flammarion and Arnaud Uyttenhove

For his project, “Broken Manual” the photographer ALEC SOTH traveled across America looking for people who’ve retreated from society. Some live in mountain cabins, some in caves, others in the desert. It is through Alec‘s eyes that we try to understand why those modern hermits want to escape. The photographer shows us a new fantasy, the dream to disappear. This film, directed by Laure Flammarion and Arnaud Uyttenhove, is about men, America, Alec Soth and the dream of disappearing.

You can now see the full documentary at Alec Soth’s new exhibition “Alec Soth – Gathered Leaves” now on at the Foto Museum Antwerp until June 4th 2017. Screening will be held at one of the following times: 10.30, 11.30, 12.30, 13.30, 14.30, 15.30 and 16.30. The film lasts 57 minutes.
