Judith Bernstein’s paintings at Gavin Brown offer the viewer a glimpse into the artist’s energetic approach to sexuality and politics. Bernstein’s canvases animate sexual organs into warriors alongside vigorous text elements including words like cuntface and voyeur. The seemingly cosmic unviverse created by Bernstein captivates the audience while the messages of inequality and sexual agression remain at the forefront. On view through April 19th 2014 at Gavin Brown, 620 Greenwich Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
