U & Me Electricity by Kim Ann Foxman

Purple TV presents the exclusive new video “U & Me Electricity” from Kim Ann Foxman, the brilliant Hawaii born artist and DJ who shot to fame as a vocalist for the neo-disco collective Hercules and Love Affair and has since continued her rise to become one of New York’s finest DJs and a prolific/ambitious producer. Taken from her latest Energy EP, released on her own Firehouse Records imprint (inspired by the old firehouse in Brooklyn that is her studio and a creative hub for the like-minded), the track is effortlessly reminiscent of the UK rave scene.

“I shot the video myself on a point and shoot camera, while visiting family in Thailand who happen to have a go-go bar. I’m so grateful for this experience and especially thankful to these wonderful women who shared so much, and inspired me to explore who I would be in such an exciting atmosphere. We had a lot of fun together, and it was cool to be able to offer a new and unique angle on a subject that so many people have preconceptions about. I wanted to keep the video very DIY and more lo-fi feeling this time. Jonathan Turner and Andrew Borin, who I have worked with in the past on my other videos, ‘Creature’ and ‘Return It’, really helped me bring my story to life.”
