CASA NANCARROW
this private house, built in 1948, is an example of the organic architecture that the artist and architect juan o’gorman would later develop for the monumental facades of the central library of the ciudad universitaria and for the anahuacalli museum. o’gorman constructed it in the south of mexico city for his longtime friend, the avant-garde composer conlon nancarrow. this is where nancarrow began converting player pianos for his musical compositions and where he received contemporary composers such as aaron copland and john cage on their visits to mexico.
