GUCCI Spring / Summer 2016 collection
When I was considering the right person to incarnate Alessandro Michele’s second collection for Gucci — which I planned to shoot in Los Angeles — I thought of the ultimate Purple girl, CHLOë SEVIGNY. I called her just as she was stepping into a Gucci dress for the LACMA’s Art + Film Gala, sponsored by Gucci. Coincidence rules.
“Of course,” she said, “I love the new Gucci!” She wanted to know what I had in mind. I told her, “No party mood, no poses, no glamour. No fancy make-up, no sex; running and exercising — like everyone does in Silver Lake or Los Feliz, famous or not — in Gucci.” She added, “Okay, I do sports here, but I can only shoot on Sundays as I’m filming a new series during the week.” Et voilà.
