PETIT by GASPAR NOÉ
Gaspar Noé stages his story inside the Opéra-Comique, one of Paris’s most ornate and art-filled theaters, adorned with sculptures, busts, frescoes, and elaborate decorative details. This architectural jewel embodies a singular Parisian glamour — opulent, and densely layered with decorative history.
Founded under Louis XIV and continually rebuilt and enriched over the centuries, the Opéra-Comique was conceived as a space for freedom of expression. Positioned between the authority of the Opéra and the intellectual refinement of the Comédie-Française, it was designed to welcome a broader, younger audience, and cultivated a lighter, more entertaining repertoire. In 1714, a royal decree formalized its identity by requiring spoken dialogue within sung works, a constraint that defined opéra comique as a genre.
Noé’s choice activates the theater not as decor, but as a living stage for a cinematic vision of the Gucci Spring/Summer 2026 “La Famiglia” collection.
