In her ongoing series Rooms (2017–25), Bulgarian-born photographer Greta Ilieva captures friends, acquaintances, and strangers in their most intimate setting: the bedroom. More revealing than nudity is the raw intimacy of these private sanctuaries. For Ilieva, the bed is “the sun in the solar system of the home,” a site of the libidinal and the unconscious.
