MESSAGES OF PEACE

American painter Ariana Papademetropoulos imagines peace not as order but as enchantment.

Her colorful, dreamlike paintings dissolve the boundary between reality and hallucination, opening spaces where consciousness can wander freely. A telephone booth shaped like a giant seashell invites us to hear her recorded conversation with her spiritual medium, Wendy, while her burning microwave ovens transform the familiar rituals of domestic life into haunting reminders of environmental collapse.

Moving effortlessly between myth and everyday life, Papademetropoulos proposes that peace begins with an awakening of perception — through wonder, imagination, and a renewed intimacy with the living world. — PURPLE
