Tony Oursler is a contemporary video artist known for projecting human faces onto static forms, getting them to come alive from an undefined elsewhere. Recently, he engages with the patterns used for facial recognition. Here, he maps the geometric patterns and coordinates of facial symmetry and proportion, and challenges cosmetics’ conventions.
