VANESSA BRUNO’s long-time collaboration with MARK BORTHWICK is one of those rare cases when a photographer’s artistic freedom remains uncompromised. For her fall/winter collection advertising campaign, the designer cast women from the Paris scene — singers, actresses, and artists she admires for their independent sensibilities. Without hair or make-up, some wearing nothing but Borthwick’s sensous romantic light, each picture became a portrait.
