The Goethe-Institut’s Wyoming Building, which hosted a fantastic exhibition with Thomas Demand and Helmut Lang in 2009, presents We would provide complete darkness. The intimate venue includes the works of Heike Baranowsky, Carsten Nicolai and Kitty Krauss united in their symbolic and physical plays withlight and movement. Krauss’ mirrored boxes of light are discrete and self-contained works echoing Minimalist artists like Dan Flavin and Donald Judd. On view through December 22 2011 at The Goethe-Institut, 5 East 3rd Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
