Thomas Demand presents a series of 18 new photographs as of his exhibition Dailies at Matthew Marks. Demand uses images selected from his cell phone camera as opposed to his usual practice of sourcing material from the media. The artist creates a body of work that hovers between intimate and artificial. There is a sense of movement created by constantly shifting the narrative and situation for each photograph while the consistant formal devices and perspective unite the series. On view through December 21st 2013 at Matthew Marks, 526 West 22nd Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
