A work by the avant-garde performer and visual
artist Genesis P-Orridge as part of Andrew Richardson of Richardson Magazine curated
exhibition The Male Gaze. P-Orridge
emerged from the Seventies London art scene with a series of performances
based on prostitution, serial killers and pornography. In addition to
collaborations with William S. Burroughs and Derek Jarman, the
Brooklyn-based artist most recently garnered attention for undergoing
plastic surgery (breast implants, lip injections, liposuction) in
order to resemble his late wife in both appearance and mannerisms. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
The Male Gaze presented and curated by Andrew Richardson is now on view at the Maccarone Gallery, 630 Greenwich Street, New York.
