Alex Israel’s piece Property at the Greater L.A. show. Each one of the sculptural elements in this installation is rented
from a prop house more commonly used to service the entertainment
industry. For the period of the exhibition, these works leave that
symbolic system and enter this one, eventually to return to their
original method of circulation. The Greater L.A. show features work by
artists Justin Lowe, Brendan Fowler, Sterling Ruby, and others on view until June 10th
at 483 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York. Photo Caroline Gaimari
