“Tears in Rain #1: Paris, September 1999,” a book by Benjamin Deberdt featuring Mark Gonzales, Aaron Rose and Susan Cianciolo
The first book in an upcoming series, “Tears in Rain #1” documents the story of the professional skateboarder and artist Mark Gonzales as he was preparing his first sculptural exhibition at Purple Institute, back in the autumn of 1999. As fellow artist friends Susan Ciancolo and Aaron Rose help set up the exhibition, Benjamin Deberdt captures these few days of creativity. Now, more than twenty years later, the photos are released in the form of a 48-page softcover book, printed and hand-bound in Japan, with only 800 copies available worldwide.
