Continuing from his previous exhibition, “Le Coeur qui déborde” in France, Creten’s sculptures—crafted from ceramics, resin, and bronze—explore themes of the human condition through vibrant glazes and gilded bas-reliefs. The exhibition features motifs of the sea and femininity, inviting reflection on their symbolic meanings. By elevating ceramics to a higher artistic status, Creten challenges traditional art hierarchies. The oceanic metaphors and symbolic play on words provoke thought, merging aesthetic allure with philosophical inquiries. The contrasting elements of sacred and secular, beauty and grotesque, highlight the complexities of human existence and its dualities.
