Sisley Art Project for the Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh

Italian brand Sisley and Glenn O’Brien have teamed up to raise money for the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh and commemorate the museums 15th anniversary. Curated by O’Brien, 17 prominent contemporary artists, including Nate Lowman, Dan Colen, Kenny Scharf and Rita Ackermann, were specially commissioned to customize 18 Sisley motorcycle jackets, which will be auctioned at Christie’s on 8th November. Ronnie Cutrone, Andy Warhol’s primary assistant during The Factory years, adorned his jacket with his distinct Krazy Kat image. Echoing the words of Oscar Wilde ‘Be a work of art or wear a work of art’, the project continues a pop culture tradition pioneered by Warhol. The Sisley Art Project will be unveiled at Palazzo Bovara on September 22nd to coincide with Milan Fashion Week, and will be transported to the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh in October.
