[March 18 2011]
A view of New York artist Robert Longo’s downtown studio as he prepares for his debut solo exhibition at the Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in Paris. God Machines opens 21 March and will include one of Longo’s most ambitious and large scale charcoal drawings to date – a nine panel view of Mecca to be presented alongside women in burkas and church interiors. Longo’s interest in religions comes from a place of respect and childhood curiosity giving the works a sense of otherworldliness. God Machines by Robert Longo will run from 21 March through 23 April, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, 7 Rue Debelleyme, Paris.
