To mark the begining of New York Fashion Week we asked photographer, filmmaker, and New York native Richard Kern to select this months TV Takeover. Kern’s experimental, provocative, and erotic films came into prominence in the 1980’s. Such films like Thrust in Me, The Right Side of My Brain, and Fingered featured underground artists such as Lydia Lunch, Sonic Youth, Kembra Pfahler, David Wojnarowicz, Henry Rollins, and more. For his exclusive ten day takeover Kern will be selecting an array on films including young visual artists such as Maggie Lee and Chloe Wise. This takeover also coincides with the release of his forthcoming book Boyfriend Girlfriend published by The Oversea Books in October and the 20th anniversary version of his cult classic New York Girls with a directors cut and never before seen outtakes set to be released by Taschen in 2015. Check out his instagram @richardkernnyc.
