Purple presents “Peter: on Fishing”, a short documentary on Peter Shire by Harry Israelson
Purple is delighted to present the 11-time “Vimeo Staff Picked” Director Harry Israelson‘s latest “Vimeo Staff Picked” video: a 9-minute documentary on the American founding member of the Memphis Group, Peter Shire.
The short, which was captured on a KODAK Super 16mm film, was produced with a warm nostalgic ambience as it shifts from old videos and photos from Peter‘s playful past to the Peter we know and love today, seated on his design in front of a blue screen or working at his studio in LA and always in his signature striped t-shirts. Harry accompanied Peter in the weeks leading up to the artist’s 70th birthday, and learns new things about the artist which is shared through Peter‘s narration throughout the documentary.
