Wise’s new paintings explore how we see and what escapes our view. Her subjects, once carefree, now appear aware of the limits of their world and the mysteries beyond it. Mixing humor, pop references, and art-historical traditions, Wise creates vivid, theatrical scenes that reflect our own search for meaning in uncertain times.
