Mie Yim’s “Inferno” show at Jupiter Contemporary Gallery in Miami, until January 25th
Yim’s latest body of work plunges the viewer into a realm of shifting organic forms, where boundaries between chaos and order blur, much like the circles of Dante’s “Inferno”. Her canvases pulse with a mutant energy, caught between personal mythologies and the tension of cultural assimilation. The layered, unstable surfaces evoke a sense of constant transformation, as if each piece is a living, breathing organism.
