“Lines and Bodies”, an exhibition featuring works of Yasuhiro Ishimoto at LE BAL
This showcase, organized in partnership with the Ishimoto Yasuhiro Photo Center at The Museum of Art in Kochi, Japan, marks the first comprehensive presentation of Ishimoto’s work in Europe. It displays 169 vintage prints, focusing on his formative years in Chicago and Japan, reflecting his unique blend of New Bauhaus formalism and Japanese aesthetics. Ishimoto, a key figure in post-war photography, is celebrated for his critical social perspective and innovative contributions to the photobook format. The exhibition is curated by Diane Dufour and Mei Asakura.
