The photographer Roe Ethridge, who will soon present a body of work at the Gagosian Los Angeles, opened his fifth solo show at New York’s Andrew Kreps. Le Luxe includes a group of works commissioned by Goldman Sachs to document the six year construction of the company’s New York headquarters. Like previous exhibitions, there is a varied selection of staged and captured moments with no straightforward narrative. Aerial views of Tokyo are presented alongside a detail shot of a bow. Many of the works lack a sense of time or place imagining a world continuing outside the image. Le Luxe by Roe Ethridge is on view until 2 July at Andrew Kreps Gallery, 525 West 22nd Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
