Last View of 50 Americans by Robert Mapplethorpe at Sean Kelly Gallery, new york
Mapplethorpe’s photograph of Lisa Lyon shot in 1982, as part of Sean Kelly’s exhibition on the American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. The gallery, which handles the estate of the late artist, selected fifty Americans outside the art world to choose works by Mapplethorpe that resonate with them personally. The result is an eclectic and random selection, powerful nonetheless. The exhibition sees its last day tomorrow at Sean Kelly Gallery, 528 West 29th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
