Kostas Murkudis designed his very first piece of clothing in his head. He was convinced that if he were to draw it on paper it would exist. For Murkudis, being able to give birth in his head was everything. That was in the mid-seventies. Murkudis, still a teenage-boy, was living in Dresden, East Germany. With this exhibition Murkudis is showing thirty years of his creativity, inviting an audience for the first time to get as close as possible to his artistic approach. “At Close Range” is on view until February 14th at MMK Museum, Frankfurt.
