Josiah McElheny‘s new solo exhibition at Andrea Rosen Gallery explores textiles and objects through innovative abstraction. Works are displayed as reductive shapes and forms on walls and inside vitrines. The effect both restricts viewers and demands a new way of viewing. Like Michelangelo Pistoletto, McElheny employs glass and reflection to engage viewers and promote a new vision of storytelling. Some Thoughts About the Abstract Body is on view through June 30th 2012 at Andrea Rosen Gallery, 525 West 24th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
