Sadie Coles HQ presents a new series of John Currin Female Nudes. With their familiar pornographic elements, Currin’s new work also works with levels of physiological realism. Most paintings were painted from life in the studio and show reclining women who appear ambiguously caught between the art-historical trope of the female nude and an appearance of earthy naturalism.
