Jessica Mitrani “Headpieces for Peace” at FIAF, New York

FIAF celebrates fashion with Headpieces for Peace by award-winning multimedia artist Jessica Sofia Mitrani. Originally commissioned by the fashion collective threeASFOUR for their exhibition Insalaam Inshalom shown in Tel Aviv in 2011, the installation presents a wry examination of fashion and feminism, two themes central to Mitrani’s work. 11 headpieces made from printed fabric designed by threeASFOUR are on display alongside a video of the pieces which can be viewed here.
