A contemplative exploration of presence and individuality through portraits and still lifes. Rejecting traditional notions of posing, Delhomme works exclusively from life, capturing models in “non-poses” that convey authenticity and elude artifice. His vibrant, energetic brushstrokes evoke immediacy and intimacy, reflecting sittings that often last mere hours. Delhomme’s approach rejects modern spectacle-driven art, seeking simplicity and neutrality influenced by Roland Barthes. His head-on compositions integrate recurring motifs, like books and flowers, as symbolic satellites of his portraits. With bold contrasts and striking color palettes, the works resonate with a subtle intellectual and chromatic depth.
