1970s ephemera from the artist James Nares included in his new exhibition at Paul Kasmin Gallery. The show captures Nares’ reflections on movement which inspired his early bodies of work. With the 1960s films of Richard Serra as his point of reference, Nares investigates motion through diagrams, sculpture and film. The show also provides viewers a deeper understanding of the artist’s progession into the single stroke canvas works of the present day. 1976: Films and Other Works is on view through February 11th 2012 at Paul Kasmin Gallery, 515 West 27th Street, New York.
