Group show “The Ear is the Eye of the Soul” opened last week as part of the Holy See Pavilion at the Venice Biennale
Curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Ben Vickers, the secluded Mystic Garden of the Discalced Carmelites is transformed into an immersive sonic landscape inspired by the mystical writings and chants of Hildegard von Bingen. Orchestrated by Soundwalk Collective , compositions by musicians, poets, and artists like Brian Eno, Carminho, FKA Twigs, Jim Jarmusch , Patti Smith, Precious Okoyomon, Kali Malone and many more merge with bioacoustic rhythms of wind, water, insects, and plants, creating a meditative experience of listening and contemplation.
