Over the course of ten years FRANÇOIS PROST photographed the most extraordinary nightclub facades all over France.
By capturing them in broad daylight, he exposes the often overdecorated buildings to the viewer, depriving them of their nightly cover. Without the distraction of bright neon lights, glitter and colourful dazzle we get to see a different side of the clubbing scene.
PROST introduces a calm view on the otherwise noisy appearance of the discotheques, that are suddenly radiating a rare peacefulness. A subtle feeling of past parties linger as a blur, underlining that afterparty blues we know so well.
The photography project now appears in After Party, a bible of 300 pages featuring a collection of the most outstanding discotheques with a roadmap leading to the locations, inviting readers to follow PROST’s traces on his research.
After Party is released today, October 22nd, and is available for order online at Club 75 or can be purchased at the Club 75 flagship store at 32 Rue Yves Toudic, 75010 Paris.
