Frances Stark’s mesmerizing single channel video set to a haunting piano score hits upon the artifical interactions between humans facilitated by social media and the internet. Much of Stark’s practice relies on language placed into a Conceptual and Minimalist context. In this new video, Stark’s humor covers the worlds of sex and art using the anonymity of words to give her opinions freedom. Osservate, leggete con me is on view through April 21st 2012 at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise, 620 Greenwich Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
