Erwin Wurm’s latest solo exhibition at Lehmann Maupin investigates classical modes of sculpture through unconventional means. Skeletal bodies and dynmaic sausage shaped forms sit atop a selection of both precise and ready made pedestals. Wurm deconstructs the bodies and focuses on the implied motion and positions of his models. The results showcase the psychological potential of objects. Synthesa is on view through April 19th 2014 at Lehmann Maupin, 540 West 26th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
