Dana Schutz’s first exhibition with Friedrich Petzel offers a large selection of her trademark vibrant canvases. The artist’s characters perform within her paintings and dictate the color and mood to accompany each image. Schutz’s style is exhuberant-referencing styles and themes of recent art history while creating her own distinct approach to painting.
Piano in the Rain is on view through June 16th 2012 at Friedrich Petzel, 537 West 22nd Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
