Following his solo exhibition at MoMA’s PS1, artist Cyprien Gaillard prepares for a new show at the Hammer Museum of Los Angeles. Gaillard will present recent bodies of work including a series of photographs inspired by his California travels. Gaillard’s work functions as a chronicle of decay. The artist uses remnants and urban symbols to examine ideas of disappearance and caution against the negligence that often accompanies progress in the modern world. The exhibition will be on view starting April 20th through August 4th 2013 at the Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles. Photo Cyprien Gaillard and text Juliana Balestin
