If transgression is all over the place, ‘subversion’ has gone missing from today’s vocabulary. In this series of conversations with truly radical and subversive figures, critic and scholar Donatien Grau will aim to define what space subversion can create for itself today – within the world as it goes. Conceived and mediated by Donatien Grau for The Box, the program features artists Judith Bernstein, Paul McCarthy, Samara Golden, Barbara T. Smith, and Kaari Upson, philosopher Sylvère Lotringer, writer Vanessa Place, and the J. Paul Getty Museum‘s senior curator of antiquities Jeffrey Spier. The event is free. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Saturday, February 18, 3:30 – 6:30 PM at The Box, 805 Traction Ave. Los Angeles
